Announcing Maplewood Restaurant Week 2013
Maplewood’s acclaimed restaurants will celebrate Restaurant Week this year from March 3 to 9. Over 20 restaurants throughout the town will participate, from award-winning fine dining establishments to diners and takeout shops. Check here for a complete listing.
“If you are hungry, Maplewood is your kind of town,” Mayor Vic DeLuca declared. “While the secret is out about what we have to offer, Restaurant Week will provide many opportunities for residents and visitors to explore our culinary landscape. I invite all to savor the moment.”
The Maplewood Village Alliance, Springfield Avenue Partnership and Maplewood Chamber of Commerce are once again sponsoring Maplewood Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants will offer customers everything from prix fixe to tasting menus and discounted lunch or dinner specials.
“With three meals a day, I hope to sample the fares of all the participating eateries,” said Diana Vitrano of the Springfield Avenue Partnership.
Maplewood Village Alliance Manager, Julie Doran, added “Food may not be the foundation of our town’s success but it does add wonderful flavor to everything else. This is a terrific way to explore the town, visit old haunts and find new ones, while meeting some of the most innovative chefs in the area.”
Rene Conlon of the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce said, “The restaurant business in Maplewood is vital to our economy. More importantly, it is vital to who we are as a town. Let’s be honest. We like to eat. We’re lucky that we have some of the best places in New Jersey in which to do it.”
Maplewood’s restaurants and chefs have been widely praised for their innovation. The New York Times last December summed it up by describing Maplewood as “a town overflowing with interesting restaurants.” (12/23/12)
