Expert appraiser Nick Dawes will discuss the world of appraising using selected visitors’ items as examples, and explain why some items have monetary value and some do not.
Mr. Dawes is Senior Vice President of Heritage Auctions and a former Sotheby’s auctioneer, has taught at Parsons School of Design since 1985, and has authored four books on decorative arts. Nick is also Chairman and CEO of Salmagundi, New York’s oldest artist’s club, founded in 1871. He is familiar to many through over 100 appearances as an expert appraiser for PBS ‘Antiques Roadshow’. He has lived in Millburn for many years.
DO bring one small item -- ceramics, glass, metalwork and small furniture
DON’T bring coins, jewelry, paintings, prints, books, stamps

The event will take place at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Rd in Maplewood.
